Absolutely! Both of my grandfathers died by the time I was 13, but one of them sexually molested me and abused my aunt. So I learned pretty early on about how fraudulent the marriages often were beneath the facade of the 'glorious' 1950s.

Neither of my grandfathers were saints, and both of my grandmothers were forced to deal with a lot. I'm fortunate that both my parents saw the lies and mistakes of their parents and vowed to do better--part of which was allowing their kids to know all the family skeletons.

So much of history is skewed, justified, or ignored. It's time we correct our mistakes.

Thank you for reading, and for your kindness Raven. I appreciate you.
