I also use cannabis to help me sleep (a blend of THC and CBD) but I learned about some research indicating that cannabis can impede our ability to dream and we can experience (I have multiple times) what's called REM Rebound.

and

Basically, cannabis causes us to spend more time in our deep, or recovery, sleep stage and less time in the REM stage. But instead of missing out on our dreams, our mind basically stores them up so when we do sleep without the influence of cannabis, we experience an onslaught of stored up, unprocessed emotions.

This in turn can increase the rate of nightmares, and periods of being awake at night.

I mean, I still use cannabis to help me sleep, so I'm telling you all of this with zero judgement. I'm just letting you (and other readers) know about it. I, personally, try to manage my dosage and try to go at least a couple of night a week without cannabis before bed to sort of, clear the trash and prevent long-term emotional build up so to speak.

Also, thank you for commenting John, I appreciate you!
