The United States Food Additive Regulations Compared to the E.U is Worrisome

My body always functions better when I’m abroad, maybe this is why

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel outside of the U.S. quite a bit, but regardless of where I went, I noticed one consistency. My body felt…better. My skin is clearer when I’m abroad, and my digestion works without fail. If anything, it improves. All of which point to a common connection — food.

What we eat impacts how our bodies function, and the United States is known for its terrible diet. I knew this, but experiencing the difference stunned me initially; but eventually, I came to view this change as common knowledge. Recently, I was reminded once again that my common sense isn’t the same as anyone else’s while talking with my BFF’s husband about his food allergies.

He is “severely allergic to dairy” — like, throat closes up and rush him to the hospital, allergic — which has prevented him from traveling to countries like Italy. I have my own issues with dairy, though less extreme than his. I have to stay away from dairy in the United States, but in Italy, I can eat as much of it as I want without consequence.

He was amazed I experienced such a difference between the food in America compared to food practically everywhere…
